Australians CPI increased up to 5% year-on-year in September of 2008

The annual variation rate of the CPI in Australia in September of 2008 was 5%, 6 tenths higher than the month before.The monthly variation rate of the CPI (Consumer Price Index) has been 1.2%, and thus the accumulated inflation in 2008 is 4%

We must highlight the increase of 2.5% in the prices of Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, until its interannual rate reached 6.7%, which is in contrast to the decrease in the prices of Furniture, household equipment and maintenance of -0.8%, and an interannual variation of 0.9%.
