In 2017 Romania public debt was 64,565 million euros 72,939 million dollars, has increased 1,7853,448 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 35% of Romania GDP, a 2.4 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 37.4% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Romania debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 14,124 million euros 19,357 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 11.9%.
According to the last data point published, Romania per capita debt in 2017 was 3,307 euros3,736 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 3,196 euros 3,537 dollars, afterwards rising by 111 euros199 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 684 euros938 dollars .
The position of Romania, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 47 in the list of debt to GDP and 112 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
