Public debt went up in Lebanon

In 2015 Lebanon public debt was 63,373 million euros 70,312 million dollars, has increased 13,2813,765 million since 2014.

This amount means that the debt in 2015 reached 140.89% of Lebanon GDP, a 3.71 percentage point rise from 2014, when it was 137.18% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Lebanon debt. It has risen since 2005 in global debt terms, when it was 30,879 million euros 38,416 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 178.99%.

According to the last data point published, Lebanon per capita debt in 2015 was 10,830 euros12,016 dollars per inhabitant. In 2014 it was 8,940 euros 11,876 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,890 euros140 dollars, and if we again check 2005 we can see that then the debt per person was 7,745 euros9,635 dollars .

The position of Lebanon, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2015 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 183 in the list of debt to GDP and 154 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
