In 2017 Latvia public debt was 10,782 million euros 12,181 million dollars, has increased 6901,011 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 40.1% of Latvia GDP, a 0.4 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 40.5% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Latvia debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 1,835 million euros 2,514 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 8%.
According to the last data point published, Latvia per capita debt in 2017 was 5,574 euros6,297 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 5,175 euros 5,728 dollars, afterwards rising by 399 euros569 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 837 euros1,147 dollars .
The position of Latvia, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 66 in the list of debt to GDP and 132 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
