In 2016 Lesotho public debt was 977 million euros 1,082 million dollars, has decreased 91 103 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 47.76% of Lesotho GDP, a 1.98 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 49.74% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Lesotho debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 742 million euros 931 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 53.66%.
According to the last data point published, Lesotho per capita debt in 2016 was 443 euros491 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 491 euros 545 dollars, afterwards dropping by 48 euros 54dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 396 euros497 dollars .
The position of Lesotho, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 91 in the list of debt to GDP and 37 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
