In 2017 Lesotho public debt was 890 million euros 1,077 million dollars, has increased 6971 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 38.98% of Lesotho GDP, a 2.19 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 36.79% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Lesotho debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 703 million euros 787 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 44.87%.
According to the last data point published, Lesotho per capita debt in 2017 was 399 euros482 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 409 euros 450 dollars, afterwards dropping by 10 euros 32dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 372 euros414 dollars .
The position of Lesotho, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 60 in the list of debt to GDP and 32 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
