In 2017 Kuwait public debt was 21,896 million euros 24,736 million dollars, has increased 11,99213,774 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 20.68% of Kuwait GDP, a 10.66 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 10.02% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Kuwait debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 5,896 million euros 8,081 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 7.05%.
According to the last data point published, Kuwait per capita debt in 2017 was 5,293 euros5,980 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 2,288 euros 2,532 dollars, afterwards rising by 3,005 euros3,448 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,734 euros2,377 dollars .
The position of Kuwait, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 14 in the list of debt to GDP and 129 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
