In 2016 Kuwait public debt was 9,903 million euros 10,962 million dollars, has increased 5,0975,630 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 9.88% of Kuwait GDP, a 5.23 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 4.65% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Kuwait debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 6,678 million euros 8,385 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 8.26%.
According to the last data point published, Kuwait per capita debt in 2016 was 2,311 euros2,558 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 1,134 euros 1,258 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,177 euros1,300 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,098 euros2,634 dollars .
The position of Kuwait, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 7 in the list of debt to GDP and 98 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
