In 2020, CO2 emissions in Hungary have fallen 1.032 megatons, 2.05% compared to 2019.
CO2 emissions in 2020 were 49.405 megatons, making Hungary is the 129th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Hungary, have decreased in 2020, in which they have been 5.14 tons per inhabitant.
Regarding evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Hungary, has emitted 0.16 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, the same as in 2019.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have decreased since 2010, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.However, in the last five years total emissions have increased, as have emissions per capita, then the situation in the short term is getting worse.
