Macroeconomics is the branch of economic theory that studies the global indicators of the economy through the analysis of aggregate variables, such as GDP, CPI (price level), unemployment, balance of payments, etc. The other major branch of economics is microeconomics

Among the objectives of macroeconomics is the achievement of the economic objectives of the country or region through the analysis of macroeconomic data and the application of appropriate economic policies (monetary or fiscal) that contribute to the economic growth of the country or region. Its results are effective in the medium or long term.

John Maynard Keynes is considered the founder of modern macroeconomics, which was born in 1936, when Keynes published The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money.
