Uzbekistan - Intentional self-harm

In 2004 occurred 1,619 suicides in Uzbekistan. This year, 6 more people committed suicide than in 2003. In 2004, on average 4 Uzbeks committed suicide every day.

Uzbekistan had 6.3 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 1,619 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 1,215 were men suicides and 405 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 9.4 per 100,000 men and for women 3.13 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Uzbekistan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 962 homicides in Uzbekistan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.7 suicides.
