Suicides increase in United Arab Emirates

In 2004 occurred 128 suicides in United Arab Emirates. This year, 11 more people committed suicide than in 2003.

United Arab Emirates had 3.41 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 128 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 114 were men suicides and 14 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 4.14 per 100,000 men and for women 1.15 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In United Arab Emirates suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 27 homicides in United Arab Emirates, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.7 suicides.
