Of the 2,730 recorded suicide cases in 2017, 2,127 were men suicides and 603 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.19 per 100,000 men and for women 1.46 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Türkiye suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 2,541 homicides in Türkiye, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.1 suicides.
