Sweden reported 12.8 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.53 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,155 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 834 were men suicides and 321 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.7 per 100,000 men and for women 7.1 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Sweden suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 107 homicides in Sweden, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 10.8 suicides.
