Slovenia has a very high suicide rate

By 2002, suicides in Slovenia increased by 41 people to at 540 suicides In Slovenia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Slovenia there were 27.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10.78 suicides per 100,000 people.

Slovenia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 540 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 433 were men suicides and 107 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 44.4 per 100,000 men and for women 10.5 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Slovenia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 36 homicides in Slovenia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 15 suicides.
