Saint Lucia - Intentional self-harm

In 2002 occurred 11 suicides in Saint Lucia. This year, 3 fewer people committed suicide than in 2001.

Saint Lucia had 6.75 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.78 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 11 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 7 were men suicides and 3 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 9.24 per 100,000 men and for women 4.07 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Saint Lucia. However, in Saint Lucia in 2002 there were there were 42 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 3.8 homicides per suicide.
