Norway had 12.19 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.37 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 666 recorded suicide cases in 2019, 482 were men suicides and 184 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.4 per 100,000 men and for women 6.9 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Norway suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 28 homicides in Norway, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 23.8 suicides.
