Number of suicides falls in New Zealander

In 1971 occurred 237 suicides in New Zealander. This year, 34 fewer people committed suicide than in 1970.

New Zealander had 8.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.63 self-harm per 100.000 people.

New Zealander has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 237 recorded suicide cases in 1971, 149 were men suicides and 88 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.4 per 100,000 men and for women 6.1 per 100,000 female.
