Suicides increase in Montenegro

In 2002 occurred 66 suicides in Montenegro. This year, 2 more people committed suicide than in 2001.

Montenegro had 10.84 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.78 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 66 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 45 were men suicides and 21 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.91 per 100,000 men and for women 6.9 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Montenegro suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 27 homicides in Montenegro, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.4 suicides.
