Suicides decreased in Kyrgyzstan

In 2013 around 454 suicides occurred in Kyrgyzstan, 107 less than in 2012. In Kyrgyzstan, on average, at least one suicide happens every year.

Kyrgyzstan reported 8.01 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.78 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 454 recorded suicide cases in 2013, 355 were men suicides and 99 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.68 per 100,000 men and for women 3.38 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kyrgyzstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 301 homicides in Kyrgyzstan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.5 suicides.
