Hungary has the highest suicide rate in the world

In 1970 around 3,595 suicides occurred in Hungary, 184 more than in 1969. In 1970, on average 10 Hungarians committed suicide every day.

Hungary reported 34.8 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 11.8 suicides per 100,000 people.

Hungary has the highest suicide rate in the world.

Of the 3,595 recorded suicide cases in 1970, 2,539 were men suicides and 1,056 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 50.7 per 100,000 men and for women 19.8 per 100,000 female In spite of this, it is the country with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
