France has a very high suicide rate

In 1973 around 8,079 suicides occurred in France, 260 less than in 1972. In 1973, on average 22 French committed suicide every day.

France reported 15.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 11.95 suicides per 100,000 people.

France, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 8,079 recorded suicide cases in 1973, 5,768 were men suicides and 2,311 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.15 per 100,000 men and for women 8.51 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
