France has a very high suicide rate

In 1969 occurred 7,934 suicides in France. This year, 305 more people committed suicide than in 1968. In 1969, on average 22 French committed suicide every day.

France had 15.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 11.58 suicides per 100,000 people.

France, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 7,934 recorded suicide cases in 1969, 5,737 were men suicides and 2,197 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.8 per 100,000 men and for women 8.32 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
