Of the 1,176 recorded suicide cases in 1974, 921 were men suicides and 255 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 40.6 per 100,000 men and for women 10.5 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
