Finland had 21.3 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 11.8 suicides per 100,000 people.

Finland has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 983 recorded suicide cases in 1970, 763 were men suicides and 220 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 34.3 per 100,000 men and for women 9.2 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
