Of the 10,532 recorded suicide cases in 2013, 8,309 were men suicides and 2,223 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.5 per 100,000 men and for women 2.2 per 100,000 female.
Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Brazil. However, in Brazil in 2013 there were there were 56,845 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 5.4 homicides per suicide.
