Azerbaijan - Intentional self-harm

In 2007 occurred 301 suicides in Azerbaijan, the same people committed suicide than in 2006.

Azerbaijan had 3.49 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Azerbaijan, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 301 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 243 were men suicides and 58 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.71 per 100,000 men and for women 1.33 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Azerbaijan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 189 homicides in Azerbaijan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.6 suicides.
