Suicides grow in Azerbaijan

By 2015, suicides in Azerbaijan increased by 4 people to at 319 suicides

In Azerbaijan there were 3.28 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Azerbaijan, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 319 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 259 were men suicides and 60 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.36 per 100,000 men and for women 1.23 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Azerbaijan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 211 homicides in Azerbaijan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.5 suicides.
