Argentina reported 8.7 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 3,304 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 2,616 were men suicides and 688 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.1 per 100,000 men and for women 3.6 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Argentina suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 2,967 homicides in Argentina, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.1 suicides.
