Number of suicides falls in Armenia

In 2015 occurred 162 suicides in Armenia. This year, 1 fewer people committed suicide than in 2014.

Armenia had 5.39 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 162 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 124 were men suicides and 38 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.65 per 100,000 men and for women 2.42 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Armenia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 75 homicides in Armenia, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.2 suicides.
