In 2019 Uganda public debt was 12,795 million euros14,326 million dollars, has increased 2,6852,381 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 37.64% of Uganda GDP, a 2.69 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 34.95% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Uganda debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 2,560 million euros 3,566 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 14.79%.
According to the last data point published, Uganda per capita debt in 2019 was 321 euros360 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 260 euros 308 dollars, afterwards rising by 61 euros52 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 87 euros121 dollars .
The position of Uganda, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 52 in the list of debt to GDP and 18 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
