In 2016 Peru public debt was 43,063 million euros 47,667 million dollars, has increased 1,3881,429 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 24.4% of Peru GDP, a 0.35 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 24.05% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Peru debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 24,337 million euros 30,557 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 34.77%.
According to the last data point published, Peru per capita debt in 2016 was 1,368 euros1,514 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 1,338 euros 1,484 dollars, afterwards rising by 30 euros30 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 880 euros1,106 dollars .
The position of Peru, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 19 in the list of debt to GDP and 71 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
