In 2017 Peru public debt was 48,197 million euros 60,253 million dollars, has increased 5,1895,805 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 26.76% of Peru GDP, a 1.34 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 25.42% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Peru debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 23,760 million euros 33,984 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 27.92%.
According to the last data point published, Peru per capita debt in 2018 was 1,603 euros1,893 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 1,514 euros 1,711 dollars, afterwards rising by 89 euros182 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 802 euros1,180 dollars .
The position of Peru, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 23 in the list of debt to GDP and 78 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
