In 2016 Namibia public debt was 4,434 million euros 4,908 million dollars, has increased 225238 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 44.83% of Namibia GDP, a 4.49 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 40.34% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Namibia debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,605 million euros 2,015 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 25.24%.
According to the last data point published, Namibia per capita debt in 2016 was 1,788 euros1,979 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 1,735 euros 1,925 dollars, afterwards rising by 53 euros54 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 806 euros1,012 dollars .
The position of Namibia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 78 in the list of debt to GDP and 83 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
