Public debt went up in Belarus

In 2017 Belarus public debt was 25,761 million euros29,091 million dollars, has increased 2,7063,579 million since 2016.

This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 53.16% of Belarus GDP, a 0.32 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 53.48% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Belarus debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 5,402 million euros 7,404 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 15.81%.

According to the last data point published, Belarus per capita debt in 2017 was 2,714 euros3,065 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 2,426 euros 2,684 dollars, afterwards rising by 288 euros381 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 557 euros764 dollars .

The position of Belarus, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 107 in the list of debt to GDP and 106 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
