In 2016 Barbados public debt was 4,405 million euros 4,876 million dollars, has increased 9290 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 105.54% of Barbados GDP, a 1.86 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 107.4% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Barbados debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,683 million euros 2,113 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 48.43%.
According to the last data point published, Barbados per capita debt in 2016 was 15,458 euros17,110 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 15,404 euros 17,091 dollars, afterwards rising by 54 euros19 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 6,142 euros7,712 dollars .
The position of Barbados, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 168 in the list of debt to GDP and 157 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
