In 2016 Barbados public debt was 5,978 million euros 6,617 million dollars, has increased 259272 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 137.03% of Barbados GDP, a 2.35 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 134.68% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Barbados debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 2,207 million euros 2,771 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 63.94%.
According to the last data point published, Barbados per capita debt in 2016 was 20,975 euros23,217 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 20,425 euros 22,662 dollars, afterwards rising by 550 euros555 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 8,054 euros10,112 dollars .
The position of Barbados, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 180 in the list of debt to GDP and 163 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
