In 2018, CO2 emissions in Rwanda have grown 0.148 megatons, 11.31% compared to 2017.
CO2 emissions in 2018 were 1.457 megatons, making Rwanda is the 31th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Rwanda, have increased in 2018, in which they have been 0.12 tons per inhabitant.
Rwanda is one of the countries with the lowest CO2 emissions per inhabitant.
Regarding evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Rwanda, has emitted 0.06 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, the same as in 2017. Rwanda is one of the countries that pollutes the least for every $ 1,000 of gross domestic product.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have doubled since 2008, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
Total carbon dioxide emissions have also increased in the last five years, as have per capita emissions, then the situation continues to worsen.
