In Saint Kitts and Nevis, CO2 emissions during 2021 have grown 0.029 megatons, 11.28% compared to 2020.
CO2 emissions in 2021 were 0.286 megatons, making Saint Kitts and Nevis is in the group of low-polluting countries, mainly due to its small population, within the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Saint Kitts and Nevis, have increased in 2021, in which they have been 4.94 tons per inhabitant.
Finally, it is interesting to observe the behavior f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Saint Kitts and Nevis, has emitted 0.22 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, more than in 2020.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have decreased since 2011, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.Total carbon dioxide emissions have also decreased compared to 2016, although per capita emissions have increased in this period.
