The latest survey data indicate believers share of Sri Lanka population, has dropped to 98.95%. As to Buddhism it has also decreased, the previous survey recorded 69.59% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 68.15% follow it.
The second-largest religion in Sri Lanka is Hindu, accounts for about 13% of the population.
