Growth of believers and Buddhism in Sri Lanka

Buddhism is the Sri Lanka's top religion, around 70.26% of the population. A very hight percentage of population, 99.95%, consider themselves religious.

The latest survey data indicate believers share of Sri Lanka population, has increase to 99.95%. As to Buddhism it has also increased, the previous survey recorded 68.83% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 70.26% follow it.

Hindu is the second most practiced religion in Sri Lanka, accounts for about 12.46% of the population.
