The latest survey data indicate believers share of Sri Lanka population, has dropped to 99.22%. As to Buddhism it has increased, the previous survey recorded 67.38% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 69.59% follow it.
The second-largest religion in Sri Lanka is Hindu, accounts for about 13% of the population.
