Buddhism grow in Sri Lanka while believers dropped

Buddhism, with 67% of the population, is the religion of the majority of the population. A very hight percentage of population, 99.6%, confess to having religious feelings.

The latest survey data indicate believers share of Sri Lanka population, has dropped to 99.6%. As to Buddhism it has increased, the previous survey recorded 65% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 67% follow it.

The Sri Lanka’s second-largest religion is Hindu, accounts for about 16% of the population.
