In 2014 occurred 1,635 suicides in Zimbabwe. This year, 4 fewer people committed suicide than in 2013. In 2014, on average 4 Zimbabweans committed suicide every day.

Zimbabwe had 11.86 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.71 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,635 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 1,200 were men suicides and 435 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.43 per 100,000 men and for women 5.92 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Zimbabwe suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 981 homicides in Zimbabwe, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.7 suicides.
