Uzbekistan - Intentional self-harm

By 2003, suicides in Uzbekistan increased by 299 people to at 1,613 suicides In 2003, on average 4 Uzbeks committed suicide every day.

In Uzbekistan there were 6.34 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 1,613 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 1,172 were men suicides and 441 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 9.17 per 100,000 men and for women 3.45 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Uzbekistan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 963 homicides in Uzbekistan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.7 suicides.
