In 2014 occurred 3,606 suicides in Tanzania. This year, 31 more people committed suicide than in 2013. In 2014, on average 10 Tanzanians committed suicide every day.

Tanzania had 7.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.71 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 3,606 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 2,673 were men suicides and 933 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.7 per 100,000 men and for women 3.61 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Tanzania. However, in Tanzania in 2014 there were there were 3,902 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.1 homicides per suicide.
