In 1963 around 971 suicides occurred in Switzerland, 78 less than in 1962. On average, there are 3 suicides per day.

Of the 971 recorded suicide cases in 1963, 695 were men suicides and 276 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 25.1 per 100,000 men and for women 9.4 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
