Sweden has a very high suicide rate

In 1963 around 1,406 suicides occurred in Sweden, 10 more than in 1962. In 1963, on average 4 Swedes committed suicide every day.

Sweden reported 18.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 11.22 suicides per 100,000 people.

Sweden, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 1,406 recorded suicide cases in 1963, 1,028 were men suicides and 378 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 27.1 per 100,000 men and for women 9.9 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
