Sweden has a very high suicide rate

In 1962 occurred 1,396 suicides in Sweden. This year, 123 more people committed suicide than in 1961. In 1962, on average 4 Swedes committed suicide every day.

Sweden had 18.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 11.28 suicides per 100,000 people.

Sweden, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 1,396 recorded suicide cases in 1962, 1,043 were men suicides and 353 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 27.6 per 100,000 men and for women 9.3 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
