In 2014 around 4,045 suicides occurred in Sudan, 81 more than in 2013. In 2014, on average 11 Sudanese committed suicide every day.
Sudan reported 10.93 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.71 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 4,045 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 2,914 were men suicides and 1,130 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.75 per 100,000 men and for women 6.11 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Sudan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,702 homicides in Sudan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.4 suicides.
