Somalia - Intentional self-harm

In 2003 occurred 432 suicides in Somalia. This year, 13 more people committed suicide than in 2002. In Somalia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Somalia had 4.43 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 432 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 312 were men suicides and 120 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.4 per 100,000 men and for women 2.46 per 100,000 female.
