Suicides increase in Somalia

In 2015 occurred 578 suicides in Somalia. This year, 22 more people committed suicide than in 2014. In Somalia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Somalia had 4.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 578 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 414 were men suicides and 164 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6 per 100,000 men and for women 2.39 per 100,000 female.
