In Slovakia there were 9.11 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 480 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 399 were men suicides and 81 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.54 per 100,000 men and for women 2.99 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Slovakia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 48 homicides in Slovakia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 10 suicides.
