By 2002, suicides in Rwanda increased by 13 people to at 920 suicides On average, there are 3 suicides per day.

In Rwanda there were 11.36 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.78 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 920 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 817 were men suicides and 103 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.36 per 100,000 men and for women 2.35 per 100,000 female.
